Scarecrow Day

Monday (Nov 14) was scarecrow day at school and my first time picking Claire up with another little kiddo in the car! I was very proud of myself for getting there on time :-)

Claire was pouting when I got there (she had hoped to go home again with Mimi instead) but perked up as soon as she saw her baby brother waiting in the van for her!

Fielder's First Weekend

The first few days and nights are a blur (especially the nights)....but here are some pictures from our first weekend at home with the new guy.

Marti came over to walk with my mom and she came bearing gifts. Claire was really excited about her baby lion (which she named Little Sweetheart).

We were extremely lucky to have Mimi staying with us - she helped with Claire, cooked for us, walked Charlie......I'm not sure how we would have done it all without her!

Claire helped with Fielder's first sponge bath. He actually really liked it!

1st Night Home

Technically we should have left the hospital on Saturday, but Rob and I were so anxious to get home and sleep in our own bed that we decided to "check out" on Friday. All of the doctors and nurses at the hospital were totally in support of this, but the pediatrician didn't want us to go until he was at least 36 hours old. So....we waited until about 7:30pm Friday night and busted out of there! We were really happy to be home with Claire (not to mention it saved us $300! you know me, I love a deal!)



It was strange coming home in the dark, but Mom had gotten Claire all ready for bed so that she could stay up and see her brother before going to sleep.

We all survived our first night home and we even managed to get a little sleep!

Hospital Visitors

Thursday evening we had a couple more visitors. Even though I was exhausted it was really fun to show him off!
Uncle Andy came with Samara - she was mildly interested and more concerned about her snack! :-)

and Aunt Alison and Katie came with Chick-fil-A! (It sure beat the hospital "chicken alfredo" that was served at 4:15pm)


On Friday we had a few more visitors.

Big Sister!

After a really really long night of being in labor, Rob and I weren't up for lots of visitors on Thursday (Nov 10). We were super excited though for Claire to come to the hospital to meet her baby brother. Papa had stayed with her through the night and after Fielder was born, Mimi went to school for a while and then met up with them to come to the hospital. Claire had the biggest smile on her face when she came in the room. She was so excited to see him!

Even though my mom had been with me the whole time at the hospital, she still hadn't had a chance to hold him yet. This was the first time Mimi and Papa each held Fielder!

After a little visit, Claire announced that they should "get outta here" - mostly she remembered there were stuffed animals in the gift shop and she wanted to see them. They took off so that Rob and I could get a quick nap. (At this point I was just going on adrenaline! I think it was about 36 hours before I got any sleep at all!)

On November 10 at 7:08 a.m. Rob and I became very proud parents of our new baby boy, Fielder Mason! As expected, I've been a little busy so it's taken me a while to get some pictures up! Here's a few of my favorites from the day he came into our world.

Harvest Festival

Yesterday was a gorgeous fall day and since I'm still pregnant....ugh....Claire and I decided to get out of the house and go to the Fall Harvest Festival. We met up with Uncle Andy, Aunt Tara, and Samara (although the 2 kids were off and running in 2 different directions most of the time so we really didn't see each other much!)


It was a really nice event - they had all kinds of delicious food, (free soup when you bring your own mug!) games and activities for the kids, and Claire's favorite was the playground.

What is UP with the sad pumpkins?! She drew 3 faces on it and each one was sad and crying?! She thinks it's great. So we now have a family of sad pumpkins on our front porch. (They actually make me laugh when I see them so I'm having a hard time tossing them out just yet.)
