Hip Hip HOO-ray!

Uncle Jake graduated with honors from UVA a couple weeks ago!!  Wow, we are so proud of him and can't believe how fast the last 4 years have gone by.  Rob was able to go to his graduation and I stayed home with the kids.  The following weekend was his big celebration at the river.
Rob and Claire went to the river Friday night so she got a couple boat rides in before we even got there.  Then I came Saturday for the party with Fielder and my parents.  So many family members were there and we had so much fun celebrating.  I don't take too many pictures anymore....too busy chasing a VERY busy 2 year old.  Luckily he went on a boat ride and I got to stay back and enjoy my lunch in peace  :-)

The rest of our holiday weekend was spent at home relaxing as much as possible with these crazy kids.  Monday (Memorial Day) we were invited to a block party across the street with some new friends.  The kids had so much fun - Fielder especially loved this fire truck which thankfully his 3 year old buddy was willing to share.

Good food, drinks, and new friends...a nice way to spend an evening!  Fielder was a hot and sweaty mess and as it got closer to his bedtime, Rob took him home for a bath while Claire and I stayed behind a bit.  I knew he wouldn't be too thrilled with this plan and when Rob put him in the car, he said "I love you Fielder."  Fielder said "I DON"T love you."  Ah, how sweet....

K program

This week has been.....well, it's been a week.  After a trip for me to Patient First and a middle-of-the-night trip to the ER, let's just say I'm so glad I made it to the Kindergarten program at Claire's school!!  (I am fine, sounds way more dramatic than I guess it was.)
I had won a front row seat and she was so excited about the program, there was no way in the world I could have missed it.  I was very proud of her - she was confident and smiled the whole time and sang her heart out.  I'll do my best to get a video of one of the songs on here, but I haven't had much luck with videos lately.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Rob took Claire to her first Daddy-Daughter Dance at the Y and they had a great night.  Oh how I wish I could have been a fly on the wall - he said they did dances like the limbo and the chicken dance.  Mostly it sounds like the girls ran around and had snacks.  She came home with this framed picture of the 2 of them...I just love it!!

Neighborhood Carnival

We got to attend our first neighborhood party a couple weeks ago.  It was fun to see new friends there and let the kids run around.  Fielder was obsessed with the lemonade (as you can see spilled all down the front) and Claire got her face painted like Hello Kitty.  They had bounce houses, cotton candy, a band, popcorn, and balloons.  No relaxing for Rob or I, but maybe in a few years we can actually bring chairs and sit down.  Maybe?

Heartin' Harlie

Claire and I were very excited to participate in the We Heart Harlie and Friends Day.  It was awesome to see the community come together to support these beautiful girls and their families with all kinds of fun activities.  Claire was psyched for her first Kids Fun Run.

I was a proud mama watching her race around the parking lot - she had a huge smile on her face and really seemed to have fun.

Check out that stride!

We had lots of fun (and lots of cotton candy) - I am honored to be a friend of Christy's (Harlie's mom) and have learned so much from her.  Thanks for letting us be a part of such a special day!

Easter 2014

Time to play catch-up...Here's Easter in a few pictures....

Fielder and Claire got baskets from Auntie ML...he was VERY excited about the chocolate!

meeting the Bunny at the Y egg hunt

If you blinked, you'd miss the egg hunt for the 4-6 age group.  Claire had fun grabbing as many eggs as she could (Fielder was happy with his 2 that he found!)

Easter morning with Daddy

The Bunny brought Claire a nightgown with a matching gown for her bear.

Opening cards from Mimi and Papa...love that look of shock when she sees the money inside!

After the egg hunt and breakfast, we rode bikes over to the playground to burn off some of the candy and cinnamon rolls and try out Fielder's new soccer ball.

Easter on Parade

Claire had planned her outfit days in advance and was so very excited to wear her gloves.  She woke me up at 6am I think, all dressed but looking for those gloves!

After the parade, Rob and Fielder joined us at Mimi and Papa's house for another egg hunt and dinner.

Family Dinner Night

This is why I just can't let myself get behind....I've missed a month and can't really even remember what happened!  Let's start with our new house/Easter gathering with family.  We finally got a new dining table big enough to fit the whole crew and invited everyone over to dinner.  Mom did some egg decorating with kids, we rode bikes in the cul-de-sac, and the kids played (LOUDLY.)

Uncle Andy, the Easter Bunny, hopping around with Fielder and Samara!
