1 Month!

Our little man turned 1 month old yesterday! Even though the days can be incredibly long at times, the past 4 weeks have flown by and I really can't believe it has been a whole month. We love him more and more each day!

1st Bath

Well, technically this wasn't his first bath. I tried once before, but learned that it wasn't nice to wake him up from a deep sleep by putting him straight into the tub. He hated it and screamed until it was over. (Obviously I didn't take a picture of that!)

So we tried again when he was awake and he loved it!

I love his little towel that some of the preschool teachers gave him - so cute!

Feet & Favorites

Babies...

They seem so very fresh from God...

you wonder where they leave their wings.

The quote above is from one of my favorite cards we recieved when Fielder was born. Here is my other favorite which still brings tears to my eyes when I read it.

Someday, he'll be a big-time movie star

or a fith-grade English teacher.

Someday, he'll marry, have a few kids.

Maybe he won't.

Someday, he'll change the world as we know it.

Or maybe he'll travel,

send postcards from China,

phone you from Paris.

Someday, he's going to be a big strong man

able to carry you in his arms.

One day, he'll have his own hopes and dreams,

not knowing that once upon a quiet time,

you closed your eyes and made a wish

to one day have him in your life.

Game Day

Saturday was the Big Game between UVA and VT - this year it was expected to be a really good game and we were all excited! Rob was in Charlottesville, but the rest of the Mason/Barnes crew met up at Mom and Dad's house to watch the game and have a belated Thanksgiving celebration.

We all dressed in our UVA gear to support Daddy's team - even Fielder had a UVA onesie, socks, and blanket!

Scott came too and got to meet our little guy!

As it turned out, the game was a total bust. Not even fun to watch. But regardless of the game, we had a great time hanging out with the family and eating a yummy dinner!

After the game, Claire wanted to wear Mimi's Hokie bird "tattoo" so she let her put it on her face. The next day Rob had to take Claire with him grocery shopping and of course, everyone in the store made comments like "How about that game!" or "Wasn't that a great game to watch?!" Rob just played along....so no one can say he isn't a good sport!! Claire even kept the Hokie bird on her cheek for school the next day (I thought her Hokie teachers would like that!)

A Last Minute Thanksgiving

This was our year to be with Rob's family for Thanksgiving, but since Ganny couldn't make the trip to Richmond and I didn't think we could handle a trip to the farm, we had to miss out on the Barnes Thanksgiving. We called my parents maybe 3 days before and asked if we could join them! It was supposed to be a "mini-Thanksgiving" but of course Mom made all our favorites. It was definitely a last-minute thing, but really nice! We had so much to celebrate and so much to be thankful for.

Fielder cooperated and stayed in the car seat long enough for me to eat! It was funny because at one point I realized Rob and I were eating as fast as we could and our plates were clear while everyone else had just started. I guess we're just already in that "baby mode" of eating fast since you never know when your time will run out!

Claire was pretty hyped up! Not only had we invited ourselves to dinner at the last minute, but we had also sent Claire to spend the previous night at their house! She had so much fun as always and we got a nice break!

We are truly blessed and so thankful for our family and friends, but this year we are most thankful for our little baby boy! In the 2 weeks that we have gotten to know him, we have fallen completely in love! Happy Thanksgiving!

Meeting Family

More pics of Fielder meeting family members!

And thanks to Alison for letting me borrow the Moby....I wouldn't survive without this thing!!

Scarecrow Day

Monday (Nov 14) was scarecrow day at school and my first time picking Claire up with another little kiddo in the car! I was very proud of myself for getting there on time :-)

Claire was pouting when I got there (she had hoped to go home again with Mimi instead) but perked up as soon as she saw her baby brother waiting in the van for her!
